Jason Manford thanked police in Stockport for recovering his son's stolen bike - then became embroiled in a row with followers who claimed the crime was only solved because he's famous.
Last month the Waterloo Road star tweeted that his son's Claud Butler mountain bike was stolen outside school in the Davenport/Cale Green area. He said they'd found it after they 'caught some little s*** in Stockport who dropped it and ran like the wind', adding: "Very thankful to the officers @GMPStockport." But then a follower waded in, claiming she knew of a case in Manchester where someone was knocked off their bike and was asked to 'do his own investigation and find CCTV'. "They only helped you because of who you are," she added.
Manford replied: "Oh do shut up! They randomly found the bike after some scrout [sic] dropped it, cross checked it with a crime number and brought it back! "Last time I checked I’m entitled to the same amount of justice as the next citizen!
