Steven J. Horowitz Senior Music Writer Japanese boyband One or Eight has made its official launch with the release of “Don’t Tell Nobody” along with an accompanying music video. “Don’t Tell Nobody” is written and produced by OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder and Dave Stewart, with a rap penned by Lucien Parker.

The song, a fusion of hip-hop and pop, serves as an introduction to the eight-piece band, which consists of Mizuki, Neo, Reia, Ryota, Souma, Takeru, Tsubasa and Yuga.

One or Eight’s name is inspired by a Japanese phrase that means “all or nothing,” while the group’s tagline is “bet on yourself.” The Tokyo-based group initially launched in June with a performance video of “Kawasaki,” inspired by the Japanese brand.

That video racked up six million views in five days, and has since gone on to amass 10 million clicks. That track was produced by DJ Smallz 732, Gent!, Bangs and Xansei, with a subsequent rap inked by Parker.
