Janey Godley announced to fans on social media that she will be going in for a full hysterectomy in seven weeks time. The 60-year-old comedian revealed last week that she had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer and urged anyone with symptoms to get them checked out.
The comedian wrote: "So in 7 weeks time (due to me having Covid just now) I go in for a full hysterectomy and removal of some lymph nodes, with the possibility of chemo to follow after they check all the bits they whip out, thanks everyone for kind thoughts I <3 NHS #myreluctantovarianCancerJourney." Godley gained fame during the pandemic due to her voice-over sketches of Nicola Sturgeon's Government coronavirus briefings, as many saw her comedy as some light in a dark time.Fan
