Janey Godley has had the last laugh at trolls who say she isn't funny as she scooped her second comedy award in one week. This week alone, the Scots comedian was awarded "Woman of Influence" comedy award and also a Chortle award for being a 'legend of lockdown'.
The 60-year-old is best known for her hysterical voiceovers of Nicola Sturgeon's daily coronavirus briefings. Taking to Twitter, she wrote: "I won a comedy award today from “Woman of Influence” for my voice overs videos through Covid thanks!"And two days earlier Janey said: "Every time anyone tweets a show am on ...cue the “she’s as funny as dead kids dying in a burning orphanage and as funny as cancer or sticking your balls in hot tar and she’s very offensive” and I can’t stop.
