Jamie Vardy has said that Wayne Rooney was talking "nonsense" on the stand during the Wagatha Christie trial. The Leicester City striker's comments come following claims in court from Rooney that he was told to tell Mr Vardy's wife Rebekah to "calm down" during the Euros in 2016, writes The Mirror.Speaking on the high court steps, Mr Vardy said: “Wayne is talking nonsense.

He must be confused because he never spoke to me about issues concerning Becky’s media work at Euro 2016.“There was nothing to speak about, I know this because I discuss everything with Becky.”Today Mr Rooney gave evidence of his "awkward" alleged conversation with Mr Vardy regarding Rebekah Vardy.He says: "It was awkward for me to have to speak to a team-mate regarding his wife."Mr Rooney claims they went to a games room to sit down and have a chat.
