Jamie Redknapp’s mum Sandra has opened up for the first time about suffering a devastating miscarriage. The former hairdresser, 74, who is 54-years married to football legend Harry, fell pregnant in February 1969, but lost the baby at 12 weeks.
Detailing their heartbreak in joint autobiography When Harry Met Sandra, Sandra bravely told how she had been working at the salon and couldn’t get a bus home to Barking in deepest, darkest winter.
As she walked home in the thick snow, Sandra recalls how she lost feeling in her hands and feet and, feeling very unwell, knew she had suffered a miscarriage.
