She says the spark that brought her back to the iconic slasher series was precisely that Gordon Green and co-writer Danny McBride tapped into a changing world to add new relevance to the rebooted trilogy, reimagining Laurie Strode as a woman who had lived a lifetime with the trauma of Halloween night in 1978 and had been hardened and enraged by it when we met her in 2018’s Halloween.
