Jamie Carragher has praised Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite - who is a reported transfer target for Manchester United. The 21-year-old defender is enjoying an impressive season with Everton after spending last season on loan at PSV Eindhoven under the guidance of ex-United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Carragher, who played over 700 times for Liverpool, spoke highly of Branthwaite on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football before Everton's 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace.
