Oscar winning actor James Woods was brought to tears during a television interview, discussing the loss of his home to the Los Angeles wildfires continuing to tear through the city.There are currently five fires being fought by emergency services, with five people confirmed dead and more than 137,000 people have been evacuated from their homes.
The fire in the Pacific Palisades neighbourhood has become the most destructive in the city’s history, with at least 1,000 buildings destroyed.
Many famous names in the film industry have been affected by the blaze, with actor Mark Hamill chronicling his evacuation.Woods, a veteran actor known for his performances in films such as Casino and Any Given Sunday, documented the destruction as he fled to safety.
Speaking to CNN, he confirmed the fire had claimed his house in Pacific Palisades.The Oppenheimer executive producer became emotional talking about the impact. “One day you’re swimming in the pool and the next day it’s all gone” he said.
