nme.comJames Murphy paid tribute to his late business partner and friend during LCD Soundsystem‘s All Points East headlining set.The New York electro band took over the annual London festival at Victoria Park on Friday (August 23).
They kicked off their set with ‘Us v Them’, ‘You Wanted A Hit’, ‘Tribulations’, ‘Tonite’, ‘Oh Baby’ and ‘I Can Change’.During the middle of their performance, the frontman took the time to share how hard playing the show was for them as they had just recently lost a dear friend.
Before jumping into their 2007 song ‘Someone Great’, Murphy told the crowd via The Line Of Best Fit: “Yesterday, we lost a very dear friend of ours, Justin Chearno.
We’re all fucking destroyed. We’re trying our best. We love him and miss him. This sucks. Thank you for being here and being a part of it,”The group also dedicated ‘New York I Love You, But You’re Bringing Me Down” to Chearno.
