James McAtee has named Phil Foden as the senior Manchester City star he looks up to as he proves there is a path to the first-team for the club's young players.
McAtee is one of several extremely talented prospects coming through in the City academy and he has put an end to speculation he could leave the Etihad by committing his future to the club.
The 19-year-old had been linked with a departure, with Manchester United supposedly interested due to his excellent form this season which has seen him bag 19 goals.
His previous contract expired in 2023, which made a move a worrying possibility, but City have moved to secure the playmaker by signing him up to a new deal that runs until 2026.
