British chef and TV star James Martin has dished out a savvy yet straightforward tip for saving time during the busy festive season, especially when rustling up a decadent Christmas lunch.

With the countdown to Christmas underway, the Yorkshire-born gastronome is eyeing a quick trip to his closest restaurant before darting home to delight his family with his cooking — his passion for cuisine pulsates through his life. "I’ve got quite a busy time in the restaurants ahead, but Christmas this year, I’ll be cooking at home.

I’m in the restaurant for part of it, I usually go and see the chefs, wish them a happy Christmas, and try to do a few covers before disappearing to cook it myself — a double whammy," he tells us.
