James Hong finally has his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! The 93-year-old accomplished actor was joined by Daniel Dae Kim and Jamie Lee Curtis at the ceremony on Tuesday (May 10) for the big reveal and during the event, even danced a traditional lion dance with some performers. James‘ star was finally accomplished thanks in part to a crowd-fundraising campaign started by Daniel in 2020.
The goal aimed to raise $55,000 for the actor to get a star, and it was reached in just four days. “In actuality, I didn’t hear a thing [about the campaign],” James told Variety. “Somehow the internet wasn’t quite working or I didn’t get the email.
The next thing I hear, they had the money already.” He added, “I want to thank all the fans and friends who donated their money.
It boggles my mind to think that there’s enough people out there who would do that.” With his star, James becomes the oldest actor to receive a star on the landmark.
