on April 27th.”One Direction — consisting of Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik — officially announced they were going on “hiatus” in 2016, a year after Malik left the band and made the five-member crew a foursome.Though the boyband said they’d be on an 18-month hiatus, they have never reunited and all members have gone on to pursue solo careers.Corden has been a longtime fan and supporter of One Direction, with the boys appearing on the show multiple times, including a “Carpool Karaoke” segment.

Styles, 29, and Horan, 29, have both had weeklong stints as guests on the show during their solo careers and have been guest hosts of the show in Corden’s absence.
