James Cameron got real about his directing style in his new Masterclass event. The 66-year-old filmmaker revealed that he does regret his behavior on movie sets in the past. James admitted that he was a “tinpot dictator” and wishes that he’d been more of a nicer director in the mode of Ron Howard.
In the past, he had built a reputation for being a dominant force, and considers himself more as demanding and never cruel. “[The director] does say that if he could go back and do one thing differently in his career, it would be to improve the nature of the working relationships he had with his cast and crew members,” Slash Film wrote of his confession.
