James 'Arg' Argent has teased a "new chapter" with a snap from his hospital bed after receiving a life-saving gastric operation.

The Only Way Is Essex legend, 33, has undergone a gastric sleeve surgery after recently topping 27 stone in weight and being warned by doctors that he could die unless he lost weight.

Now on Monday (April 19), Arg has shared an image of himself smiling in a hospital gown from his hospital bed. The former TOWIE star captioned the photo: "Today Is the First Day of the Rest of My Life [raising hands emoji] "My weight loss journey has STARTED, I’ve had my gastric sleeve surgery with the incredible team at @wearetransform ".
