evoke.ieEastEnders may be back on screens but the soap is about to lose a much loved character as Jake Wood is leaving.The actor who has played Max Branning on the BBC show for 15 years, announced on Thursday that he will be parting ways with the programme.Jake first joined the cast back in 2006 and has had a number of lead storylines over the years from Max’s secret marriage to being framed for murder.The father-of-two confirmed his departure in an official statement saying he’s excited to see what the next chapter brings: ‘I’ve had 15 wonderful years at EastEnders and have made some truly great friends.’While Jake will miss his buddies on set, he says he’s grateful to know that the door has been left open for him to return at a later.
