A man who forced himself on women while they were sleeping has been jailed after sex offences against three victims. James Paterson, 32, from Cheadle in Stockport, was sentenced after being found guilty of two counts of sexual assault by penetration and three counts of sexual assault involving three different women.
He attacked his victims after nights out, one of them after he had been arrested and released by police. Today (July 11) he is beginning a long sentence behind bars for crimes described as 'despicable ' by detectives.
After a night out, one of his victims turned down his advances and went to sleep at a flat only to wake to find Paterson molesting her during the summer of 2019.
She confided in a friend and later told police, according to details of his offending released by Greater Manchester Police (GMP) today (Friday).
