Jacqui Low to 'quit' Partick Thistle as chairman to lead Firhilll board exodus amid fan fury

Jacqui Low has reportedly resigned as Partick Thistle chair along with the vast majority of the board who have yielded to the furious fanbase.

Jags fans have grown disgruntled with the leadership of the club and things hit boiling point earlier this season when they announced the transfer of shares from the Jags Foundation to the PTFC Trust - who many fans believe do not have the club's best interest at hearts and seek to dilute the fan ownership.

Low and the board had denied that but it did little to quell the fury of supporters who have been heard chanting 'sack the board' at games and recently staged a boycott of their Scottish Cup tie with Kelty Hearts, which attracted a record low home crowd as a result.

Low had insisted she wouldn't bow to fans who wanted her gone but it's now being reported she has walked. BBC reporter Kheredine Idesanne broke the bombshell news on Twitter that the club are prepared to accept Low's resignation along with all but one of their current boardroom - which is made up of Low, Andrew Byron, Alan Caldwell, Alan Rough, Douglas Noble, John Penman, Michael Robertson and Douglas Smilie.He wrote on Twitter: "Big news for Partick Thistle fans.
