Jacob Elordi, Ayo Edebiri, Phoebe Dynevor Among BAFTA Rising Star Nominees
variety.comAlex Ritman The British Academy has named the nominees for its Rising Star award for up-and-coming onscreen talent, the only honor among the BAFTA film awards to be voted on by the public.
Announced more than a week before the full lineup of BAFTA nominations is unveiled on Jan. 18, the 2024 lineup of Rising Star nominees includes some of the biggest names from the last year in film and TV and a very recent Golden Globe winner.
The five-strong list is made up of Phoebe Dynevor (“Fair Play,” “Bridgerton”), Ayo Edebiri (“Theater Camp,” “Bottoms,” “The Bear”), Jacob Elordi (“Priscilla,” “Saltburn”), Mia McKenna-Bruce (“How to Have Sex”) and Sophie Wilde (“Talk to Me”).
Nominees were selected by a panel of industry jurors including actors Daisy Edgar-Jones, Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù and Himesh Patel as well as a number of casting directors, producers, and industry experts.
