Charles Ingram
Charles William Ingram (born 6 August 1963) is an English novelist, computer repairman, and former British Army major who became known for being accused and convicted of cheating on the television game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? in 2001, after winning the maximum prize of one million pounds. Following a lengthy trial at Southwark Crown Court, he was convicted on a single count of procuring the execution of a valuable security by deception. He was convicted of an unrelated insurance fraud in 2003, and ordered to resign his commission as a major by the Army Board.

ITV will air Who Wants To Be a Millionaire? cheating episode that inspired Quiz

ITV bosses have announced that the channel will air the Who Wants To Be a Millionaire? cheating episode. In 2001 Charles Ingram was accused of cheating his way to winning £1million with the help of an alleged accomplice, Tecwen Wittock, and his wife Diana in the audience who would cough to signify the right answer.

The scandal has a new generation gripped as the story plays out in new drama Quiz, and ITV has decided to air the original show on Thursday night the day after the Quiz final episode airs.
