Love Island fans were quickly left with a complaint as the new series began while the big opener left them asking 'how' and why'.
The 2024 run of the hit ITV dating show kicked off on Monday night (June 3) with a bunch of new singletons looking for love.
The Islanders were introduced to fans of the show in a special montage, where they were all shown doing their day jobs before being summoned by a glistening heart in the sky, stripping to their swimwear and entering the show's famous villa.
After they made their entrances, host Maya Jama arrived, dazzling in the Spanish sun in a white frock. She then revealed that the new contestants had been coupled up based on how they were ranked by fellow contestants in terms of relationship material.
