ITV Emmerdale's Tom King actor says he's a survivor as he breaks silence on 'prison stint

Emmerdale's James Chase has hinted at the fate of his character, the abusive Tom King, suggesting that prison might not be the best solution as he believes Tom would "probably come out worse".

The ITV soap has been gripping viewers with the storyline of Tom's abuse towards his estranged wife Belle King (Eden Taylor-Draper).

Despite police efforts to collect evidence against the violent vet, Tom continues his torment. A highly anticipated episode is set to air in December, promising an intense focus on domestic abuse as Belle finds the strength to report her husband's actions to the authorities in an hour-long special.

James Chase, who plays the menacing Tom, has shared his insights into whether his character could cope with incarceration. "Tom is a survivor to be honest so I think there would be an initial few months of the reality of the situation setting in for him" said James.
