ITV Emmerdale newcomer details why John Sugden role is 'hard' as he teases Jack's son backstory

It was revealed last month that the actor would be joining the ITV soap as new character John Sugden. His arrival heralds a new generation of the family with Victoria and her son Harry remaining the only two Sugdens by blood still in the village.
Additionally, Sarah, the daughter of Jack's adopted son Andy, also remains on the show but she is not a Sugden by blood. The 'brooding and mysterious' John will make his arrival in upcoming scenes - and is expected to shake things up for Victoria, played by Isabel Hodgins. It's later that Pollard tells her John could actually be her half brother and her late father Jack Sugden's son. Teasing the character for the first time, Oliver told the Manchester Evening News and other press: "John has an amazing backstory.
