The beloved cleaner has been at the heart of numerous dramatic plots during her time in the village, including a recent harrowing rape incident.
In terms of romantic escapades, Lydia had fleeting flings with Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) and Rishi Sharma (Bhasker Patel) before finally settling down and joining the Dingle family with Sam.
She also plays the dedicated stepmother to Samson (Sam Hall), who is currently incarcerated. Prior to her stint as Lydia on Emmerdale, Karen appeared in shows such as No Angels and Nomads.
