He had also avoided telling Belle of his mum's death, something which left her rather shocked upon discovering the truth. And in the latest episode of the long-running ITV soap, Tom avoided talking about his mum's funeral, before telling Belle that he didn't want to go.
Rather than booking flights to see his sister and attend his mum's funeral, Tom seemed more worried about whether Belle was avoiding him.
His concern over this was sparked by Belle turning down his marriage proposal last week, after which he accidentally pushed her into a table, causing her to hit her head.
