ITV Emmerdale boss teases 'death, destruction, tears' and 'confirms' first cow stampede

Fans are chomping at the bit to see all the action Emmerdale has planned for its 50th anniversary after plenty of teasing from the ITV soap's producers and with the realse of brand new trailers.

The build-up to the huge cataclysmic event has already begun but it isn't until the official birthday episode on October 16th that the action will really begin.

It was revealed back in August that the fictional Yorkshire village of Emmerdale will never be the same again after this month as a wind storm shakes up life in the Dales for every single resident.

And Kim Tate and Will Taylor's wedding will kickstart all the drama that's to come. Jane Hudson, Emmerdale's Executive Producer, has now revealed a little bit more about what's to come and appears to have confirmed a first in the show's five-decade history - a cow stampede. "We’re probably all more familiar with a loved one dying than we are with a cow stampede chasing us, so it’s important we connect with our viewers on that quieter, more peaceful level – and allow people to express emotions they maybe haven’t been able to do in their real life and they can do it through Emmerdale so balance is really key to us."
