Coronation Street fans are buzzing with rumours as they wonder if notorious character Les Battersby, portrayed by Bruce Jones, might be about to make a comeback.The artful dodgy dealer first graced our screens on the ITV soap back in 1997 alongside his wife Janice (played by Vicky Entwistle), their daughter Leanne (starred by Jane Danson) and stepdaughter Toyah (brought to life by Georgia Taylor).Les became infamous for his cunning tricks and trademark humour.

Since then there have been references made to him suggesting he has relocated to Dublin on account of his work with an Irish tribute band.A year since he took his leave, Chesney received mail from him which indicated Les had dropped 'Brown' from his surname, implying a divorce from Cilla.Currently, in the ongoing narrative of the soap, viewers have seen his character's daughter Leanne getting trapped into a high-stakes cult plot.
