The character, played by actor Chris Gascoyne, departed the cobbles with a one-way ticket on December 26, after starring in the ITV soap for more than two decades.
Emotional scenes on Christmas Day saw Peter's partner Carla Connor gift him a boarding pass so that he could go travel. It comes after Peter's difficult year which saw him struggle with the guilt over his involvement in the death of serial killer Stephen Reid.
