Coronation Street fans have shared their annoyance as the hit soap has been cancelled once again, to make way for sports coverage on ITV.

Over recent weeks, ITV soaps Corrie and Emmerdale as well as BBC's EastEnders have been impacted by various sporting events being aired on the channels, with FA Cup matches and the Six Nations rugby taking place.

A one-hour long episode of Coronation Street usually airs every Wednesday at 7.30pm, straight after Emmerdale. However, FA Cup live coverage will takeover Corrie's slot on ITV on Wednesday, 7 February, while Emmerdale will remain in its usual 7pm space.

The match is a fourth round replay between Chelsea and Aston Villa, with ITV's coverage scheduled to continue until 10.20pm.
