Coronation Street fans were left spluttering at their TV screens as they tuned in to see the latest goings-on in Weatherfield thanks to an admission from Mary Taylor about her youth.
The much-loved ITV soap character, played by Patti Clare, is currently planning a trip abroad with Brian Packham after misunderstanding his request for help.
The former headteacher, played by Peter Gunn, had a DNA test which informed him of his Italian descent. He later revealed he'd found a cousin, Isabella, who lives in Italy and that he had plans to visit her.
He asked Mary if she could help make the trip happen, hoping she would offer to run The Kabin during his absence. However, Mary appeared to misunderstand Brian's request and thought he'd invited her to come along. "Oh how lovely," Mary told her pal.
