Coronation Street fans were left emotional earlier this week when Audrey Roberts bravely told her friends that she had attempted to take her own life.
Viewers had wondered what had happened after the character, played by Sue Nicholls, ended up in hospital and hid the stay from her family.
She then visited her GP, Dr Gaddass, who quizzed Audrey and prescribed her anti-depressants but un scenes aired in the ITV soap on Monday (August 16), the street stalwart found the time to speak out as enjoyed a catch-up with pals Ken Barlow, Rita Tanner, Roy Cropper and Claudia Colby over afternoon tea.
As she admitted to attempting to take her own life, her friends were left shocked and in typical soap timing, the restaurant of one of Debbie Webster's fancy hotels went dark and a waiter appeared with a cake singing happy birthday.
