Police and paramedics rushed to the scene on Lowton Road last night (Thursday) after the youngster was knocked down at around 10.25pm.
The girl was taken to hospital with serious injuries, police said. The driver remained at the scene to assist officers. A cordon was put in place after the crash and a section of the road was closed off.
