CJ Stander shocked fans when he announced his decision to retire from rugby at the end of the season. The 30-year-old South African-born flanker shared the news on social media stating that his ‘commitment to rugby has started to take an unfair toll on my family’.
Now his wife, Jean-Marié has paid tribute to her husband with a series of sweet snaps of him in his Ireland and Munster jerseys on the pitch. ‘So many moments that brought tears to my eyes, left me in awe, made my heart physically ache – far beyond what is expected from a game (let’s face it, it’s more than a game),’ she began.
