Isabella Rossellini has signed on for a new project. The 72-year-old actress will play a significant role in an upcoming biopic, titled The Bitter End.
The film will tell the story of Wallis Simpson, an American woman who married King Edward VIII as a divorcee, which ultimately lead to his abdication. Keep reading to find out more… In the movie, Isabella will play the role Suzanne Blum, a French lawyer and Wallis‘ confidant. Mike Newell is set to direct, while Louise Fennell has written the script.
Meanwhile, Joan Collins will be playing Wallis. “I am absolutely thrilled to join the incomparable Joan Collins and the brilliant Mike Newell in bringing this extraordinary story back to life,” Isabella told Variety. “Louise Fennell’s script allows us to delve into the complex and devastating relationship between these two iconic women, the profound impact they had on one another and their lasting mark on history,” she added.
If you didn’t know, Isabella was nominated for her first Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Conclave.
