Irvine Vics boss Dougie MacDuff admits he’s greedy for more goals after his side’s excellent start to the season. The Westenders took their goals tally to 29 from eight league games as they crushed struggling Newmains United 4-0 on their return to West of Scotland League Third Division action on Saturday.Lewis McCracken bagged a double with Alessandro Savarese and Bobby Colligan also getting on the scoresheet against the league’s bottom dogs.MacDuff, whose side sit fourth in the table just four points behind leaders Larkhall with two games in hand, was particularly pleased to see his players get the job done early with three first half strikes. But he reckons his side – currently on a seven-game winning streak – can be even more ruthless as he targets a strong end to the year.He said: “I know I’m being greedy but at the end of the day you see other teams winning 5-0 and we have to make the most of situations when we can.“It could have been a lot more than four but if I’m being honest, it was just good to get the win.“Having not played for a few weeks, you’re always a bit apprehensive and it was the kind of day weather-wise where a defender could make a mistake.“But that’s six clean sheets from eight games now so I have to be happy with that.“We need to keep this up though.
