Irvine Meadow announce new manager as former Kilwinning boss takes charge

Irvine Meadow have announced former Kilwinning Rangers and Whitletts Vics boss George Grierson as their new manager.Grierson takes over at Meadow Park after a seven month break from the dugout and brings his trusted backroom team of Kevin Deeney and Barry Ross with himHe has extensive management experience after spells with the likes of Kilwinning, Lugar, Saltcoats, Newton Stewart and Muirkirk.Meadow chairman Robert Jeffrey said: "We were impressed by George's enthusiasm and vision for the club and the way he wants to play football."He sees Irvine Meadow very much as a sleeping giant and is looking forward to the challenmge of taking the club back up the table."We believe he deserves his chance to manage in the Premier League."His immediate aim is a better finish than last year, maybe looking at breaking in to the top six."Grierson succeeds Colin Spence and James Latta who left the club by mutual consent earlier this month.Don't miss the latest Ayrshire headlines –sign up to our free daily newsletter here
