Sales of Irn-Bru are on in the rise in England, boosting profits for Scots owners AG Barr. The firm, with headquarters in Cumbernauld, has reported a 7 per cent increase in its soft drink sales this year.
It anticipates announcing total sales of approximately £221million for the six months ending July, marking a 5 per cent rise from the previous year.
The iconic drink was first launched in Scotland over a hundred years ago and AG Barr revealed that both the value and volume of Irn-Bru sales, have increased, indicating higher sales than last year.
The company also noted that Irn-Bru is expanding its share of the soft drinks market in England as the brand, dubbed Scotland's "other national drink", gains popularity south of the border.A new advertising campaign for the drink centered around the Scotland men's football team qualifying for the Euro 2024 tournament was described as "highly successful".
