Irish alt-rock quartet Modernlove have announced the release of a brand new EP, along with an exceptional single. Today (May 17) the band issue new release Islands and will drop their highly-anticipated new collection On My Mind July 29 through Akira Records.
Another pitch-perfect mash of alt-pop and indie-rock, Islands sees the lads (who all hail from Drogheda) build a story from generational heartache; the break-up of a parents marriage and your own relationship.
In a statement, they said: "These people are made into “islands” by the oceans they must travel each day to meet and see each other eye to eye. “The song explores ways people try to deal with this struggle and this loneliness whether it be drink, drugs or sex but in the end it recognises that they are simply in a painful situation that they must accept and let [it] happen."
