Andy Winter has been a thorn in Inverness Caley Thistle's side in recent years and the Accies striker is hoping he can sting the Jags once again to take Hamilton Accies back to the Championship.The 22-year-old climbed off the bench on Wednesday night to help Hamilton see out a 2-1 win over Duncan Ferguson's side in the first leg of the Championship play-off final, where Kevin O'Hara's stunning lob and a Fergus Owens header had Accies cruising until Jags sub Aribim Pepple pulled one back.Winter's side hold a one-goal advantage going into this evening's decider and he wants to continue his fine record with the club at the Caledonian Stadium to seal an immediate return to the second tier.Accies have won three of their last four meetings in the Highlands and Winter has netted winners in two of them, so he insists gaffer John Rankin will need to make sure he is involved at some stage.The striker said: "Up there I've had a few winners against them so hopefully I can get on or start the game on Saturday to get another one.
The gaffer should get me involved, 100 per cent."I came back from injury after 10 months a few years ago [in December 2021] and scored a winner up in Inverness and last season I scored a winner against them up there [in October 2022] as well so I have a good history.
