Inverness Caley Thistle could face going out of business as auditors say their £835,000 loss puts the club's future in "significant doubt." The Highland club have had their struggles on and off the pitch since their relegation from the top flight in 2017 and their prolonged spell in the Championship has had its impact on their finances.

Prior to the financial year 2021/22, their pre-tax accounts posted losses every year over the five-year period as they toiled to get back to the top flight.

Inverness' latest accounts show they are £835,000 in the red for the year 2021/22 - £600,000 more than what they lost for the previous financial year.

A note from auditors says that leaves them with assets of £462,000 and liabilities of £1,715,000 - a financial situation which leaves "a material uncertainty that may cast significant doubt on the company's ability to continue as a going concern.
