A nine-year-old boy with cerebral palsy is taking on a charity walk challenge after being inspired by fundraising hero Captain Tom.
Ethan Beardow, from Gorton, cannot stand unaide. He gets around by crawling or using a wheelchair. He is determined to complete 100 laps of a 25m course with his walker before his 10th birthday next month.
Ethan is raising money for The Care Workers Charity, which has agreed to ringfence the money to help pay for the funerals of coronavirus victims.
Ethan was inspired by the efforts of veteran Captain Tom Moore, who turned 100 today. Captain Tom, who has been made an honorary colonel, raised £32m for the NHS ahead of his birthday by walking laps of his garden.
