Mutya Buena has taken to the small screen this week as part of the Celebrity Masterchef line-up, joining stars such as Strictly's Vito Coppola, Christine McGuinness, Charlotte Crosby and Chloe Burrows.
And while the singer is best known for making up one third of pop band Sugababes - who returned to the stage in 2022 - she has previously revealed that singing wasn't how she started out her career.
London-born Mutya revealed last year that she actually tried her hand at beauty pageants before landing her big break, entering a pageant called Little Miss Philippines in her youth.
In an interview with Vogue, Mutya - who was born to a to a Filipino father and English mother - admitted that she blended her looks and vocal chords as she sang for the talent section of the competition. "It’s so funny because I first sang when I entered Little Miss Philippines—we love our beauty contests. [Laughs] I entered Little Miss Philippines when I was six years old in London.
