On Thursday there were reports that Goodfellas actor Ray Liotta died in his sleep at 67. The actor was in the Dominican Republic at the time of his passing where he had been shooting the film Dangerous Waters.
His rep confirmed the actor’s death to the Hollywood Reporter. Ray, who was loved for his performance in Goodfellas in 1990, was born in New Jersey and adopted at six months old.
He honed his craft at the University of Miami where he studied acting and took to the world of musical theatre. His first break came in 1986 when he starred in Something Wild which earned him his first Golden Globe nomination, for Best Supporting Actor - Motion Picture.
Four years later he played Henry Hill, a charismatic wiseguy, in Martin Scorsese’s Goodfellas for which he was best known.The film went on to be nominated for six Oscars.The actor was father to daughter Karsen, and engaged to marry fiancée Jacy Nittolo.
