Pixar‘s Inside Out 2 is set to begin streaming on Disney+ on September 25, the studio announced via its social media channels on Thursday.
The film hits streaming following an astonishing theatrical debut in June, which has made it the highest-grossing film of the year at over $1.6 billion worldwide.
Marking the feature directorial debut of Kelsey Mann, the sequel has also broken records to become the highest-grossing animated film of all time, as well as the eighth highest-grossing film of all time, and the first animated feature to gross over $1 billion overseas.
The coming-of-age film follows up Inside Out, Pixar’s 2015 Oscar winner directed by Pete Docter, which won hearts with its depiction of a young girl named Riley and the complex emotions she faces, all of which are brought to life on screen.
