Inside Little Stars Nursery - the new, purpose-built day nursery opening in Kildean

There’s a new nursery in town! Stirling’s largest private day nursery is expanding with a new purpose built nursery in Kildean.The state-of-the-art nursery is open plan, with accommodation for 94 children aged between six months and five years old.The new nursery is being built next to the new Prudential/M&G head office and behind the new Starbucks at Kildean and is planned to open in October.Sheila said: “We can’t wait to open our new nursery in Stirling and let parents and families see what we can offer”.Little Stars was created by Alloa locals, Kevin and Sheila Gilmartin, over 21 years ago in a room in their home.

The duo have now successfully grown their business with new premises’ in Alloa near Redwell Primary School, Falkirk Football Stadium and also in Glasgow and Hillington.All the nurseries within the group are in partnership with their local councils to offer free childcare up to 1,140 hours per year, in line with Scottish Government's funding and can also accommodate eligible two year olds.The new nursery boasts open views towards Stirling Castle and Wallace’s Monument and will benefit from a large, open garden area with bike/running track and sports grass for play time and games.The new nursery will be employing 24 staff and are currently recruiting.Any new employees will be paid a minimum of living wage plus a £500 ‘Golden Hello’ bonus - subject to T&Cs.
