Jennifer Aniston did not invite her own mother to her wedding ceremony with Brad Pitt, as she had a fractious relationship with her mum.

The 51-year-old Friends actress has spoken previously about why she shunned her mum Nancy Dow and why she went years without speaking to her.

Jen has said that she didn't meet the approval of her critical mother, who was a model in the 1960s and also appeared in TV shows The Beverly Hillbillies and The Wild Wild West.

Speaking about her childhood years, Jen said: "She was a model and she was all about presentation and what she looked like and what I looked like." Jennifer has said that because she didn't turn out to be a model as well, it was difficult for her mother to connect with her.
