The Princess of Wales has been out of the spotlight since Christmas as she continues with her recovery following abdominal surgery.

But, despite not being expected to appear back in public until after Easter, Kate has been at the centre of a bizarre social media conspiracy theory in recent days.

Shutting down continuing rumours, a spokesperson for the Princess said: "We were very clear from the outset that the Princess of Wales was out until after Easter and Kensington Palace would only be providing updates when something was significant."
