Neil Francis Lennon (born 25 June 1971) is a Northern Irish football coach and former player who is the manager of Scottish Premiership club Celtic. During his playing career he represented English clubs Manchester City, Crewe Alexandra and Leicester City.
Lennon moved to Scottish club Celtic in 2000, where he made over 200 appearances and was appointed captain in 2005. Before retiring as a player, he returned to England and played for Nottingham Forest and Wycombe Wanderers. Lennon made 40 appearances for Northern Ireland in nine years, scoring two goals. Lennon was appointed manager of Celtic in March 2010, initially in a caretaker capacity after the departure of Tony Mowbray.
Celtic No.2 John Kennedy insists he won’t rush a decision to replace Damien Duff. The Irishman is leaving Glasgow for family reasons and will take up a post within Stephen Kenny’s national-team set-up.
Duff has been a key figure for Neil Lennon since his return to the club 15 months ago. Ex-stars Stephen McManus and Darren O’Dea are amongst those believed to be under consideration for the role, but Kennedy says time will be taken.Get all the latest Celtic news sent straight to your Inbox every day by signing up to our newsletter. We cover every morsel of information regarding your favourite club in the form of articles, videos and podcasts. The newsletter will arrive every day at 12pm, giving you a round up of the best stories we've covered
