Michael Ball first shot to fame when he made his West End debut in 1985 playing Marius in the original production of Les Miserables – a musical which still draws crowds from all over the globe.

Then the now-62 year old went on to star in the equally successful Phantom of the Opera, but his career took a hit due to a health condition that affects millions.The actor, singer and broadcaster recently quit his mid-morning Sunday show on BBC Radio 2 to take over the Love Songs slot formerly presented by Steve Wright, following his shock death at the age of 69 in February.

But Michael – who lost weight with two diet changes – has secretly struggled with anxiety and a mental disorder which impacts millions in the UK.

In an interview with Daily Mail back in 2019, Michael confessed: "I'd never had a nerve in my body, then this happened," reports the Express. "All you have to offer as a performer is yourself.
